Camera Preview and Settings Tester

Open a permission-scoped local camera preview and report the resolution, frame rate and facing mode exposed by the active video track.

Ready. Your working data stays in this browser.

Why this tool is useful

Use this tester to verify framing and determine which resolution and frame rate the browser actually negotiated before joining a video call.

How it works

The browser requests one video-only MediaStream, attaches it directly to a muted local preview and reads the active track settings. It does not record frames or send them to YTSave.

Practical example

Permit the camera, wait for the preview and compare the reported 1280 × 720 or 1920 × 1080 setting with the quality selected in your operating system or meeting app.

Validation

The test reports only browser-observable events and measurements; it does not invent hidden hardware health, temperature or manufacturer specifications.

Privacy boundary

Input and output remain in this tab. Copy and download happen through browser APIs without a server upload.

Result passport

Every run reports its tool mode, timestamp and input/output size so transformed data can be audited.
