Two-Outcome Expected Value Calculator

Calculate a probability-weighted expected value for two explicit outcomes and show the entered probability total.

Ready. Your working data stays in this browser.

Why this tool is useful

Compare a simple two-outcome decision while keeping both outcomes and their probabilities visible.

How it works

Each outcome value is multiplied by its entered probability and the two weighted values are added. Check that the displayed probability total is 100%.

Practical example

The sample combines a 40% chance of 100 with a 60% chance of -20 and reports the weighted average.

Validation

The calculation is deterministic and explains validation errors instead of silently changing invalid input.

Privacy boundary

Input and output remain in this tab. Copy and download happen through browser APIs without a server upload.

Result passport

Every run reports its tool mode, timestamp and input/output size so transformed data can be audited.
