How it works
Straight-to-smart mode recognizes apostrophes between letters and alternates opening and closing quote marks. Reverse mode maps the common curly forms to ASCII.
Practical example
The sample becomes “Local tools” don’t upload text in smart mode, then returns to portable straight quotes in reverse mode.
Validation
The calculation is deterministic and explains validation errors instead of silently changing invalid input.
